Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics – Journal of Global Order, Security, and Policy Cultures (JGOSPC)
The Journal of Global Order, Security, and Policy Cultures (JGOSPC) is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity in scholarly publishing. Our policies are aligned with international best practices as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing endorsed by DOAJ, COPE, OASPA, and WAME. Editors, reviewers, authors, and publishers all share responsibility for upholding ethical conduct throughout the submission and publication process.
1. Originality and Research Integrity
-
All manuscripts submitted to JGOSPC must be entirely original unpublished works that are not under consideration by any other journal.
-
Authors must ensure that submitted research is accurate, honest, and free from data fabrication or falsification.
-
Papers must represent the authors’ own work and ideas, with proper attribution to prior work.
2. Authorship and Contributorship
-
Only individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions to the conception, design, analysis, drafting, or interpretation of the work should be listed as authors.
-
All authors must have approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission for publication.
-
Persons who provided technical support or general assistance but did not contribute substantially should be acknowledged appropriately, not listed as authors.
3. Authorship Misconduct and False Authorship
-
JGOSPC prohibits inclusion of authors who have not participated in the work and will investigate and take action on any allegations of inappropriate authorship (including gift, guest, or ghost authorship).
-
Any changes in authorship (addition, removal, or order) after submission require written consent from all original authors.
4. Plagiarism, Redundant Publication, and Paper Mills
-
Plagiarism in any form (including copying text, ideas, figures, or data without appropriate citation) is strictly prohibited. Manuscripts are subject to similarity checks using appropriate tools.
-
Duplicate or redundant publication (publishing the same research in more than one journal) is unethical.
-
Manuscripts originating from commercial paper mills (entities that produce fraudulent or fabricated research for payment) are not accepted. JGOSPC will actively reject submissions suspected of being produced by paper mills and may notify authors’ institutions if necessary.
5. Research Misconduct
JGOSPC considers the following as serious ethical violations:
-
Data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation
-
Image manipulation or misrepresentation
-
Citation manipulation
-
Salami slicing (fragmentation of research to produce multiple papers)
-
Misleading or deceptive reporting of methods and findings
If evidence of misconduct arises at any stage, the journal will investigate and may issue corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or notify relevant institutions.
6. Conflicts of Interest
-
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose all financial and non‑financial conflicts of interest that could influence research outcomes or editorial decisions.
-
Disclosure allows readers and editors to assess potential bias and ensures transparency.
7. Peer Review Ethics
-
JGOSPC uses a double‑blind peer review process.
-
Reviewers must evaluate submissions impartially and maintain confidentiality.
-
Editors must avoid assigning reviewers with a conflict of interest and must refrain from handling submissions where they have a personal or professional connection.
8. Publication and Post‑Publication Practices
-
Accepted manuscripts are published under a Creative Commons license and permanently archived.
-
The journal follows transparent policies for corrections, retractions, and editorial expressions of concern if issues are identified after publication.
9. Complaints and Appeals
-
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by providing a written explanation.
-
Complaints related to ethical issues or misconduct will be reviewed confidentially by the editorial team following COPE’s recommended procedures.
