Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The International Journal for Disaster Management and Risk Reduction (IJDMRR) follows a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and relevance of all published research. The steps are as follows:

  1. Manuscript Submission

    • Researchers submit their articles for consideration.

  2. Initial Editorial Assessment

    • The journal editor conducts a preliminary review to determine whether the article fits within the journal’s scope and meets basic quality standards.

  3. Reviewer Selection

    • If the article passes the initial assessment, the editor selects peer reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

    • Reviewers are usually anonymous, and the author may not know their identities.

  4. Peer Review Evaluation

    • Reviewers evaluate the article based on:

      • Research quality and originality

      • Methodology and data analysis

      • Potential bias

      • Ethical considerations

      • Clarity and coherence

    • Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommend whether the article should be:

      • Accepted

      • Accepted with minor revisions

      • Rejected with major revisions

      • Rejected outright

  5. Editorial Decision

    • The editor makes the final decision based on reviewers’ recommendations.

    • If revisions are requested, the author resubmits the manuscript after addressing reviewer comments. This process may repeat for several rounds until the article meets the required standards.

  6. Publication

    • Accepted articles are published either in open access (freely available online) or subscription-based journals (accessible to subscribers, usually academic institutions).

  7. Post-Publication Review

    • The peer review process may continue after publication.

    • Editors and authors can issue corrections or retract articles if significant concerns arise.
